Mine's a small agency involved in Viability Analysis, which roughly translates as figuring out whether people's ideas will succeed or fail - before they invest their hard earned millions.&lt;br&gt;

By the way, I hope your partner's supporting your initiative. If not, that could be a problem. The time involved in being the boss is phenomenal.&lt;br&gt;

Its not easy and will stretch your relationship with your wife unless it is very very strong ! Regards,&lt;br&gt;

This is the sort of simple advice I need. As well as my savings I'm going to write a timetable of things - a sort of countdown to handing in my resignation letter.&lt;br&gt;

Start with one day a week less and use that time to develop your business plan and contact potential contacts.  As it develops look at changing your work pattern, less hours, flexible working etc.   You work in the local government and you have a small child - there should therefore be some flexibility available.  You can use the request for flexible working path by saying you want to spend more time with your child?&lt;br&gt;

I set up my own business after leaving Uni and would simply say - do it. All the doubts and fears are natural, never diminish, and simply create inaction.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
